    new to raid

I am considering getting a raid controller and pair another 80 gb harddrive to my sytem. I want the pc to see these two drives as one 160 gb hard drive. Can i do this with RAID? also does anyone know of a site that has a begginers guuid to raid that can explain how everything works and all? thnx

Raid 0 (striping) will make two drives appear as one large one. Raid 0 works beast with two identical drives, it will give you the beast performance. Raid school

I should mention that with raid 0, if one drive dies you loose what is on both drives. You loose what ever data is stored on that array. There is no redundancy with raid 0.
