bios mods for a7n8x-e

here're the bioses for a7n8x-e, modded from the original bios,

- L12 (200fsb) mod built-in
- higher bandwidth romsips from dfi infinity 6-19 bios
- xp-m cpu name included
- various bios options/settings are unhidden
- original bpl module, ver. 3.17 is used in the cpc on bios (bpl unmodded) and cpc off (name ending with 2T, modded bpl)

first thanks for this bios, I try it as soon as possible :-)

Here is a request (maybe hard, a challenge ). With 8rdavcore bios can be select from 1.425 to 1.9 without problem. Is it possible to have one day this option in your wonderfull bios ?


Now I have to try your bios to see if all is ok

played a bit with the cpc=on Bios.

9,0 x 225 stable in Prime/3Dmark
9,5 x 225 stable in Prime/3DMark
10,0 x 225 stable in Prime/3DMark

CPU is a XP-2600 Mobile @1.8 Vcore Watercooled
Ram Corsair 2 x 512MB XMS3200LL v1.2 3-3-3-11 @ 2.8V

After i maxxed the cpc=on Bios - I´ll give the cpc=off a try

Welcome roubagalinhas,
I wouldn't be hopeful that it will solve incompatibility problems, and some Kingston has issues. I also wouldn't flash if your machine is unstable. Might check the sticky post at A7N8X->Common Questions, or just write Kingston.

roubagalinhas - If you are running either KVR400X64C3A/512 Modules or KVR400X64C25/512 Modules on the A7N8X-E, you will not get them to work in dual channel or at 400FSB. However.. if you have one of each.. you can get it too work, at least it is on my board lol. The KVR400X64C25/512 Module gave me the most issues. Took forever to get it stable and I was only able to get it stable when used in Slot 3 while Slot 1 was occupied with a KVR400X64C3A/512 Module. The timings I am using are 3-3-3-11. And at this point.. I have come to the conclusion that Kingston misinformed Asus about their Ram's compatibility. Nvidia got into the act (there are notes on this whole thing in the sticky) and said that the 512mb version of KVR400X64C25 module is not compatible with the Nforce2 Chipset. Having said that.. I currently waiting for my machine to explode at any moment because when mixed with a stick of KVR400X64C3A.. its stable and passes Memtest overnight, 16 passes with no errors. Moral of this story.. dont buy kingston when your buying Asus under a purple sun on ground hogs day. <--- Hopefully that made no sense what so ever.. cause neither does the whole ram issue

i´ll give it a try using same memory timmings as you (3-3-3-11) and im gonna run memtest

Has anyone done comparative testing between the CPC "on" and CPC "off" bios with respect to FSB ceiling and memory performance? I am running with the CPC "on" bios with memory at 212 FSB 5-2-3-2 timings, which works great. I am curious if going with the CPC "off" would buy some fsb headroom, and at what memory performance compromise.

Do you have Sandra benchmark program? I would be very interested to see comparative CPU and memory benchmarks with FSB maxxed between the CPC off and on modded bios.
