    "Imagine"

Promote then, as an object of primary importance, institutions for the general diffusion of knowledge. In proportion as the structure of a government gives force to public opinion, it is essential that public opinion should be enlightened.

I dont think thats what Lennon had in mind. I also dont share the same pesimistic view that the interview espoused. Man has always been the same, now he just has new toys. Lennon was talking about one world in a spiritual sense, not Marxist. I didn't John in that light at all ~

Death and destruction is only dispensed by the US and no one else, money is evil , how dare we enjoy the luxuries, we should be dolphins swimming in the sea, we're gluttonous pigs, we're material creatures, people starve while we go to concerts, how dare we have fun when others suffer, blah blah blah.

Granola head utopia. I'm going to go sell all of my belongings and live in a mudhut.

EDIT: I love the murder they've committed to an otherwise pleasing song to listen to. The 2000's Tool industrial remix is as sweet as a razorblade apple.

Looks like someone's bitter today ^^^^^.

I take it you haven't seen real poverty yet, especially foreign caused poverty. When I do it really makes me wonder about myself, my life, my existence etc.

Oh god again you ride the high horse becuase we all know that it's only Nikilo who knows what true pain and suffering is or we're sheltered here or we're not watching the right news or some other similarly arrogant statement. I just think if you don't buy into neocon utopia then you shouldn't be foolish enough to get your heart strings pulled by this either.

There's more poverty in this world that we can possibly address and the overriding majority wasn't caused by anything the US did. Don't you talk down to me about poverty like I have no clue. Earth to Nikilo I make barely $20,000 a year, I live in a 3 room apartment with my fiance who'll be giving birth to our baby girl this coming January. I start back in school on January and from then until August I have ZERO income. I'm almost broke as it is. I'm lucky I can keep the teeth in my head and my car on the street. I have no doubt that I will be well below the poverty level and I don't see anyone coming to bail me out. How bout you? Will you come help me? Or do you need to see a dozen flies crawling over my skull til I get your attention?

Sorry but my family is priority and I'm not going to feel sorrow for the children who die in other countries due to their own failed and corrupt governments(HINT HINT 80% of African nations through no fault of the US's so bite my a$$). But you've got Middle East on the mind so then you see THAT poverty and that blame will go to the US despite the fact that those nations house some of the most abusively rich people on this planet...family of those who live in poverty. Why don't they impart their infinite cash supplies onto their own people? I'm sure that's the US's fault too.

The last thing you wonder is how you can help. The ironic role of being a doctor with only a means to diagnose but none to cure.

Tell me the truth. How long have you been living at your parent's house?

Myself as well. The older I get, the more I wake up and see just how incredibly blessed I am. Seeing the suffering of others makes me realize what's truly important in my life and what's just fluff and trappings. It gives me perspective. At times I try and think about the measure of my value as a person...and all I can come up with is what I do for others on the planet. Nothing else seems to make sense. Living simply to increase your leisure time and to "buy more toys" is hollow and will surely haunt me when I'm on death's door. Writing checks to various charitable organizations to help others is a good start but just doesn't seem to "fill the need".

Damn - sounds like a friggin' liberal hugfest is going to break out! Okay, just for balance...

Fook 'em. Let 'em play the hand they're dealt - just like I did. Why the hell should I have to subsidize another person's existence? Friggin' socialists! Let 'em get a job!

Dude don't worry about me, I'm making bank. I'm 20 I have a job at a software company, I do jobs on the side, and I am going to have an apartment within the month. My dad lost his job and had to move to New Jersey( you Bush and your improving economy), so I am cleaning this house and helping him sell it as well as getting an apartment. Every liberal is not a moocher and its sad that you would go that low and take a up conservative stereotype. In fact every liberal I know is hard-working and generally concerned about the welfare of others. That is the basic liberal philosophy.

You obviously haven't been to the Middle East or you wouldn't have made that statement above. Those rich people in Kuwait, Iran, Saudi Arabia are all pandering bastards. Nearly all of them are holdouts from British rule, they get cushy deals while they abuse their citizens and incite terrorism all while recieving Western Aid. That is the truth and that is why there are people willing to rip themselves to shreds instead of living. There is no point to life when you are a slave to foreign governments and terrorist indigenous governments.

You know what kind of poverty I'm talking about? I'm talking about a wife having to go naked for a day because she and her husband only have one set of clothes.

You seem to mistake my concern for other people here. I care about American citizens as well.

Here's the deal: If things ever get dire and you need money for your kid or your girl PM me. I will send you 100 dollars paypal or I will find another method to. If you need more, I can't help right now because I'm on a pretty tight budget as well.

So basically if it's not America's fault, it Britain's. Ok! everybody got that? Good that's really simple to remember. Thanks Nikilo for breaking it down for us. Saves getting tied up in all that personel accountablity stuff that liberals seem to have real problems with.

Since when are you such an expert on the Middle East anyway? Have YOU ever been there? A two hour stop over in Dubai to buy duty free booze doesn't really count.

That.. sounds... just terrible. Poor guy having to go to work wearing his wife's dress.

Gone over this before, I've been to Istanbul, Jerusalem, Tehran, Oman, Dubai. I stayed in each for a quote a good amount of time and I can tell you they don't like the British. And I certainly don't need to go there to get some anti-British sentiment; India and Pakistan have more than enough of that. I don't understand how you can deny the simple fact that there is an India and Pakistan isn't the fault of the British. They played some up game of politics in which they turned both sides against eachother especially after the Rebellion(which you asses call Mutiny) in which the Mughals and Hindu raja's combined forces. None of this would have happened if the British stayed the hell out.

I also don't know how expect a country to have accountability (although India has shown a lot) when you systematically demean their history and deny them education. I mean they used to tell Indians that they were some half-Aryan mutts who didn't have civilization until the whites came along and mixed in. Even now they have a stupid north/south racial divide.

None of this anger is directed at the British citizenry though, mainly only at holdouts like you.

I have a job and do jobs on the side what exactly is your point? You want me to have a house at age 20? I live by myself right now, pay rent and am getting an apartment.
