PC reboots after NForse SATA drive load on MSI Neo2 Platinum

I have finally updated my mobo to BIOS Ver 1.3, after some slight problems.

I originally installed XP without the BIOS update, but it has locked up sporatically. I will be running a game or browsing some files and the PC locks up, no error message is displayed. All I can do is hard boot the PC to get it back up and functioning. I'm doing a fresh install, hoping that the old BIOS may have had something to do with the locking up issues.

My only problem is after loading the NForce SATA, the XP setup loads a few more files and reboots. I then have to go back in and start the install from the beginning. I'm using a USB floppy, which shouldn't be an issue, because it is recognised during the install.

Anyone else have any experience with this mob, and possibly a similar setup.

See PC1 in sig, I was getting a hard lock within the first minute or two from a cold boot, reset then it was OK. It hasn't happened in the last 4 days with 1.36 beta bios.

However I still get a hard lock at shutdown or restart approx 1 out of every 4.

    Thanks for the reply.

It actually truned out to be the ram, one of the dimms was bad. I just put in an RMA request and should have a new one in a few days.

I will keep an eye out if I get weird booting issues, like the ones you described.
