I can't look at Chivas seriously anymore. I lived with a Chinese guy for about a year. He'd pronounce 'Chivas' as "Chivai", which phonetically is very easy to misinterpret as another very rude Chinese word that means a woman's genitalia. Quite often I'd get home and he'd say "you want some Chivai"?

We decided drinking Johnny Walker Green Label to avoid confusion. Plus it tastes nicer, IMO.

    Mjolnir,

Did you ever get some Moutai Chinese whiskey when you lived with the guy? I did some business out in Shanghai last summer and we drank quite a bit of the stuff. I brought some back and can't get anyone else to try it because of the jet-fuel-esque smell.

Please make me feel OK for liking the stuff .

Moutai? Ahahaha! My Dad has had a bottle of it at his place for years. Never opened. We just figured it was crap but loved the name.

Its good stuff, though I guess its an "aquired taste" to some. I cannot find it ANYWHERE on this side of the ocean, so I haven't had any lately.

Nah I'm not worried about him drinkin. He dosen't really like to. We have a pretty tight open relationship, he lets me know if he was partyin'. I'm lucky in that regard. The thing that worries me is the fact that he'll have his whole senior year bein able to write his own absentee excuses
