|AMD Expands Partner Roster For Validated Server Program |

SUNNYVALE, CALIF -- October 21, 2004 --AMD (NYSE: AMD) today welcomed Sanmina-SCI (Nasdaq NM: SANM) as a new partner in AMD’s Validated Server Program (VSP). Launched in June 2003, AMD’s VSP connects system builders with VSP partners to obtain validated, stable and reliable solutions built on AMD Opteron™ processor-based server platforms from enterprise-class servers to systems optimized for the value segment.
AMD is partnering with Sanmina-SCI, a leading electronics contract manufacturer serving the fastest-growing segments of the global electronics manufacturing services (EMS) market, to provide servers based on the AMD Opteron processor. Sanmina-SCI plans to introduce a new designation of VSP systems, including two- and four-way barebones servers. These systems will feature advanced systems management for enterprise environments, redundant power and cooling and hot-swap storage and I/O.
