Im not so sure. I think what Orangutan has brought to our community has had alot of impact....on getting people to think...agree or disagree.

He has made a difference on the way I think about things. Hell, it's one of the reasons why I'm voting Libertarian this year. Even though Orang and I don't agree on all the same issues, I know that deep down we both want what we think is best for the country.

I would agree. IMO, those '92 debates made both of the other two big candidates
look a little silly, especially at the time when National issues were of paramount concern.
The only problem is, the factional split of the Reform party in more recent elections
turned off a lot of people.

Also, I think they have changed the entrance requirements for the Prez debates since
the '92 election too. If I remember correctly, there was a big stink about them changing
the number of sigs required just weeks ahead of the first '00 debate. As if they didn't
want Nader up there making a fool of them the way Perot did in '92.
Then there was the Nader/audience ticket debacle.

A big step might be to do away with the "third party" label. IMO it adds a tone
of illegitimacy. As if any party besides the big two should all be grouped together.

Ha! Jeez. Youll have to stock up on violins and Kleenex It will be fun to see how folks react. Maybe we can have a post election brawl where both sides can find resolution in a good old fashioned gladiator deal.....maybe Andrew and Jhvrball goin at it with chainsaws or something.

I think so. And if Bush wins it would be her time in '08.

with 54% of precincts reporting, only 36,000 people out of the approx. 230,000 people in my city are voting. Even if I'm generous and triple that number, it's still a good bit less than 50% voter turnout. So sad, so disappointing

On the positive side, Kerry has a 6 point lead so far (in my city that is). Makes me feel happy for having voted , final election results aside.
