lappy reccomendation

im lookin to get my gf a good laptop for when she goes to UF next year. something she can game on if she wishes but something thats good at multitasking writing papers on stuff like that. doesnt need to be super extravigant<sp?> just dont want to get her anything thats gonna break at the drop of a hat. been looking at dells and they dont seem TOO overpriced. also is it possible to build your own laptop? havent been too much into laptops soo kinda newb at this. anyways thanks for any suggestions you guys have.

Just got a Gateway 7405gx from BB. It is made by arima. It was 1249 plus some rebates and stuff.

Great machine.
