AMD Appoints RadioShack President And COO, David Edmondson, To Board Of Directors

SUNNYVALE, CA -- November 2, 2004 --AMD (NYSE: AMD) today announced the appointment of David J. Edmondson, president and chief operating officer of RadioShack Corporation, to its board of directors. Mr. Edmondson, 45, was elected at AMD's board of directors meeting on Oct. 27.

David Edmondson is president and chief operating officer for RadioShack Corporation. Prior to joining RadioShack, Edmondson served for 12 years in a variety of sales and marketing roles for ADVO, Inc., the largest database and direct-marketing company in the nation. While there, he was a key executive responsible for developing comprehensive marketing programs for some of the nation's top retail brands.

In 1996, Edmondson was recognized by Advertising Age as one of the Top 100 marketers in the United States.

Edmondson graduated from Pacific Coast Baptist College in San Dimas, California, where he earned degrees in theology and psychology. He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program. He is a board member of the internationally recognized Van Cliburn Foundation and the Women's Center in Fort Worth.
