Just got my Winchester 3200 and my MSI K8N Neo2 Plat. It is running at 2.3 with the retail cooler and a Sparkle 350w power supply. I am getting an XP120 this afternoon and I will be swapping the power supply out with an Antec 430 True Power.

    I hope I get 2.4.

Get an XP-90, The XP-120 won't fit the MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum says Thermalright.

I'd love to buy It as My K8T Neo2-F will accommodate It, But I won't have any extra cash until March 2005.

Is your Neo2-F OC'd? If so, I could use some advice. Thanks.

I actually checked the Thermalright site just before I ordered and checked the compatability list. I ended up picking up the XP-90.

BTW updated to the 1.41 beta bios for my board and switched out my power supply for an Antec 430Watt. I was able to prime stable for 3 hours at 2.4 with the stock cooler.

Looks like you have it running at 2.6GHz. How did you get the PCI/AGP to lock? Thanks.

    What's the overclockability like on the 3000's and 3200's? Will I find I can clock a 3500 or a 3800 much higher?

I want to be able to run the chip as fast as I can (so I don't need to replace it in a few months). But the 3800 is *very* expensive compared to (say) a 3200. Is it worth it?

    Opinions?

BTW: I could conceivably just say "sod it" and get an FX-55. Is that worth it? Or complete madness?
Anand did a great review on the .90 939's and there doesn't seem to be a benefit to using the higher Procs if you plan on O/Cing....

Oh and before I forget, It's a setting in the Bios I would assume, As Viperlair.com says Just before the Final Words that the AGP/PCI lock is working and the Neo2-FIR uses the K8T800 Pro chipset, It doesn't use the older K8T800 chipset which doesn't have any AGP/PCI locks. The Viperlair review of the MSI Neo2-FIR starts Here. And the Neo2-F just doesn't have the 1394 parts, Among others, But is otherwise Identical(It's just a Stripped down version of the Neo2-FIR).
