Any modding needed to run a mobile XP on a desktop?

Just wondering if I can just pop in a mobile chip and start OCing right away or is some modification required? Thanks.

    Hey

You are not required to do any mod. The cpu will boot up at 6x100 in most cases. Default voltage will vary from board to board. All no big deal, the voltage is never lower than de cpu's default voltage and the multiplier is unlocked.
However a lot users report increased OC results by doing the L12 mod. There are several ways to do that but the socket wire trick seems to be the easiest. Do a forum search on it.
I did increase my cpu from 200x12 at 1.9v to 215x12 1.9v with it. I have an IQYHA stepping. As I said you can find a lot in a search.
    Whisper Performance setup:
    Asus Maximus Formula (X38)
    Asus Geforce EN8800GT
    Intel Q6600 3720 Mhz 1.45v.
    2x 74Gb WD Raptors RAID-0
    WinXP Pro SP2
