i have a tendency to buy all this great stuff just to buy it, not cause i *actually* need it. It's a habit.

    Re: 2x512 Kingstong HYPERX 3200 $159.99

If anybody cares, I wasn't able to get this HyperX crap to run at it's rated speeds on my rig (Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro nForce 2 Ultra). I tried it's rated 2.6V and 2.7V but it didn't help anything (all at 200FSB). Had to run the memory at CAS 2.5 in order for it to boot to Windows. My mobo doesn't like any Corsair RAM I've thrown at it either at there rated speeds. I've tried TwinX, LL and ValueRAM and windows ran like arse. Memtest didn't like em either, but only after some 4-5 hours of running did it give errors.

CPU-Z identified the HyperX rated at 2.5 also at 200FSB and 2 @ 166FSB. WTF?

Edit: Tried this on 2 other mobos with all different chipsets. On all boards, the SPD detected the RAM at 2.5 also. Same story with CPU-Z

Edit: Forced the settings to their rated speeds 2-3-2-6 in BIOS and it's running fine after 60 hours of Prime on a PM800 board.
