    Re: 2x512 Kingstong HYPERX 3200 $159.99

    "And what does that mean?"

WinBond CH-5 RAM chips don't normally scale as high as the BH-5
with FSB. And they don't really like an excess of Vdimm voltage
    whereas the BH-5 does.

The K2 designates a dual channel kit.

Don't get me wrong.... for that price even CH-5 is a good buy.

    Pops.

Edit: Now that I look at the picture of this RAM on their website it is actually
a bit of false advertising. Picture is showing labels that are BH-5 memory.
Gonna be some disappointed peeps in the end over this one.

If it WAS BH5, then these would be sold out by now. What I want to know is how are they able to sell these for a profit if they're 100 bucks cheaper than everywhere else? There CAN'T be that much mark up from other places like Newegg. I must be missing something. Either way I ordered some too yesterday. What's the catch?

heh. I thought I was a mad overclocker when I was just jacking up my CPUs, but I never bothered with RAM, video cards, or anything else they can get their hands on.

There is a good chance these are returns or refurbished. Still it is a good deal. BH-5 is da best, but CH-5 is pretty d@mn good itself.

nowhere does it say on the ad they are refurbs. if they did that without telling the customer they might as well pack it up and quit, cause nobody would ever buy anything from them again. besides, can you realistically refurb ram?

Well appearantly it isn't refurbished or used. That was just a guess so you guys don't need to get your panties in a wad! I have seen this done at other retailers so I thought it maybe the case here as well.

    Re: 2x512 Kingstong HYPERX 3200 $159.99

Yup it's hard to believe, i almost want to say that they messed up the pricing and that they kingston valueram 1gb 3200 should be at this price, not the hyperx. They're probably not out of stock either, but don't want to sell these at this price if they don't have to. That's the only thing i can think of considering that the fry's retail stores have them right now for 249.99 and i've seen on the net anywhere from 250-300 bucks for these! Anyone else happen to get a pair?

i thought memory was cheaper these days. this seems like a lot of money to me to be speding on RAM. what is the performance difference between hyperx and valueram? Or is it just placebo effect?
