    XP Mobile vs. AMD64

I know you guys probably have answered these a bunch of time but can you do me a big favor... what do you suspect would run better performance wise a Amd xp mobile overclocked to 2400-2500mhz with a fsb of about 230mhz running 1:1. Or a Amd 64 3200+ running stock and running async 180ddr. And would it be a big differance? Im asking this cause I could either go for the mobile and get a dual sticks of ocz platinum 3200 R2 with it and overclock. Or buy the amd 64 and run it with my pc2700+ ram. Having to wait awhile to get better ram most likely. thx in advance

You can't run A64 memory in sych (its always devided down from the full CPU speed) and you can't run the memory a 180MHz with the CPU at stock.

A stock A64 3200+ would be of similar speed to the 2.5Ghz XP-M. Slower in encoding and such, maybe a bit faster in games.

thanks for replying... Since AMD64 doesn't run async would I still ba able to verclock with cheap ram? If not how much would pc2700 ake away from performance?

You could OC the CPU just fine with cheap ram. PC2700 would not seriously hurt performance.
