    754 or the 939

i heard they were phasing some out and other rumours...
not sure if i should wait..
and is their any difference between them?

If you're going to buy one now then get a Socket 939 model. Socket 754 will be slowly repositioned to the budget end of the market in the coming year.

The socket 939 platform alows a HyperTransport of up to 1 GHz (DDR) rather than the 800 MHz of socket 754. It also has a dual channel memory controller. So it's technically a little better too.

The only thing better on 939 is the dual channel.
Get a 939 if I was you, doesnt cost much more than 754 and it gives so much RAM bandwidth.
