what is the highest ms you want on an lcd for gaming? i'd like to get one someday, and just curious. i was thinking around 12ms would be good?

still a bit too expensive for my blood though.

    Re: Gaming on LCD monitor

ill admit that it took a *bit* of getting used to, but the enhanced size and color of my LCD far outweighs any miniscule deficiency in gaming.

i do notice this weird effect when scrolling or moving text that i never noticed before on my CRT, its not really ghosting, but.. i dont know. its not a big deal

i always thought color on crt's was better myself. but then again the only lcd's i've really used were cheaper ones owned by my parents.

Yeah, that is actually what I was asking about. It is more like 'blurring' or something. I know they won't really ghost. (well, atleast none of the ones I've used did) But I don't know how to really explain it.

I would get, and want to get a LCD monitor if I could find one that didn't act differently. I've noticed with what your directly looking at it doesn't seem much different or if you are playing a game with less movement. But if your doing something fast (say flying a helicopter in BFV or flying a jet in BFV) everything in on the edges of your monitor (expecially from distances) looks blurry or something. And being used to seeing the differences in color and uniform style in a huge part of doing that for me from that aspect. I basically find that I am much slower and my eye's/head starts hurting like I need glasses or something when I play on my friends LCD's. I guess because I am trying to focus on that part of the screen like usual. I've also noticed that it is a lot worse when the screen is physically 'colder'.

I don't know though if I just havn't seen the nice one's or if they would annoy me when I play games on it. Maybe I need to get one in game transition or something where I don't know what I'm missing. It just hurts to try and focus on blurry objects.

I'm just surfing forums on a relative's LCD monitor (17-inch or 18-inch...not sure) and it seems like some lines in the forum look blurred a bit. Is the LCD going bad or something? Looks like it's a Planar from Dell.
