Why is Monarch's 3500+ 90nm price sky high?

Why have they raised the price on the OEM 3500+ 90nm so much? Only 2 days ago it was $251, and now it is $300. Its just insane: http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merch...ory_Code=AMD64

Anyone know why they would do that? I already registered on their forums and asked why.. wish some of u would back me up (I know.. its not gonna do much) http://www.monarchcomputer.com/forum...&threadid=3167

    Supply and demand I suppose.

    http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...103-494&depa=1

Newegg's 3500+ 90nm chips have been pretty high for quite a while..

ZZF's price must have went up fairly recently as well...

it was more expensive than this before the dive to $251....it just goes up & down, up & down....just save your money, watch the price, and jump on it when it goes back down....

too much demand for 3500+ and frankly I dont know why when you can overclock a 3000+ past 3500+ clocks like I have. Also venice is comming soon, a 3500+ venice would make alot better use of the 11x multi than a winchester cause they cant clock so high. Get the 3000+ now like I did then upgrade to venice when it comes
3000+ Venice here! Looks stable at 2.45GHz with a volt bump. 2.5GHz no go however.

when venice comes out, winchesters will be old news by then, I wont even bother to get another one that might overclock 50MHz better when venice will overclock way more, faster clock for clock and has sse3. why are u selling your x800pro by the way? cpu too slow to handle it?

i will bet that winchester will go out of production when venice hits. it makes no sense to make 2 512K 90nm cores at the same time.

Venice isn't going to O/C any better than Winchester does as the chips are all speed binned. And SSE3 is just for benchmarking so Intel can't stack the benchmarks to favor their obsolete, defective products as they have done in the past. So if you're expecting big gains with Venice you are in for a big disappointment.

Thumbs down Re: Why is Monarch's 3500+ 90nm price sky high?

I got one of those $251 AMD 64 3500 but the problem is if you work for a living like I do and your not home when FedEx trys to deliver it Monarch will not let you have it delivered to your neighbor. So warning about Monarch they will not work with you on delivery. I told Fed Ex to return it to them and I told Monarch I will never do business with them again.

Re: Why is Monarch's 3500+ 90nm price sky high?

I have a good experience with Monarch: they told me they only had 0411 Neo2 Plats but the board I received was 0410. They agreed to take it back and refund my money. Most places would have played hardball and say: hey, we don't guarantee s/ns, we won't take it back without a restocking fee.

I ordered one 3500+ Winnie from PCProgress about two months ago. Got it for $280. Newegg was out of stock and when they got more in the price was $389! I had to double check the box to make sure it was indeed a Winnie and not a NC.

Funny thing is in Japan, the 3500+s are reasonably priced, around $290 now.

That Winnie from PCProgress, though a 0441Txxx, is a winner. Does 2700 mhz at 1.525 volts. Gotta like all those multis: 11x and down. A good one is worth it's weight in gold. Mainly 245x11 synch with Ballistix at 2.5-2-2-5 is sweeeet!

This is why it's so expensive:

Not just Monarch who's expensive it's everyone who has them..
