    A7V northbridge

I'm thinking about putting an Orb on my nothbridge. oN A7V do you have to pull the board out to get the heatsink off the northbridge.

No, you can simply clip the tops off. However, if you do this you will not be able to reuse the plastic pins.

The ends of these pins are split and spread out, once installed, and hook to the bottom of the mobo surface. Tension is maintained by small coil springs on the pins (you can see these springs just under the plastic heads of the pins).

You can replace the heatsink with a Blorb, modified to line up with the holes in the mobo or you can install a heatsink of your choice restricted, of course, to size. I thinK the Vantec chipset cooler will work with this board and it comes with keeper pins.
