    MSI 6600GT/350 Watt PSU

I'm getting an MSI 6600GT.I'm a little worried becuase I've read they're a bit power hungry.I have a 350 watt PSU that came with the Enermax case I bought.Along with that I have a HDD,floppy,CD-rom,and sound card(All in my sig).I'm worried that the card won't be getting all the juice it needs.I have another 350 Watt PSU layen around. Is it possible for me to use that PSU for the video card only?I'd have no idea on how to set it up,or even what to do to get the PSU to turn on in the first place.Any input is greatly appreciated.
    THNX in advance,Rush.

You have to connect the green wires on the ATX connectors together, so both supplies will power up/down together.

Then you can use the Molex of the second supply to connect to the GT.

Supplies are funny, so watch it. With low and no loads, the voltages may not be what they are supposed to be - my unloaded generic 400 watt gives 10 volts at the 12 V connector, and 6.5 volts on 5 Volt.

Some supplies may need a minimum load on some of the rails to function correctly. Measure the voltages with a multimeter before connecting a $200 card to a cheap power supply. Check before connecting.

A single quality 350 watt should be enough if you connect the molex to the GT. I see the 2500+ is stock, in which case you shouldn't have a problem... So you may not really need the second supply.

I read over at silentpcreview.com that even high end loaded PCs don't draw as much power as people think. Their tests show that they top our around 200w.

    For a long while I was powering a XP1800+, GF4 Ti4200 rig with a 250w PSU with a whopping 8A on the 12v rail

I had random reboots with a 350 watt PSU. I have 2 optical drives, 1 fan, 1 HD, and my XFX 6600 gt agp. I have since gotten a thermaltake 480 watt and she runs rock solid now.

Hmm.I will try the card on the PC's PSU first to see if it will run.If not I'll bring in the second PSU.One thing. If I do use the second PSU can I somehow place it inside the case or do I have to run it outside of the case?

I don't even know if that's a genuine Enermax PSU.

Well if its a generic PSU your going to have problems. One of the most important components you can buy for your Machine is a good quality PSU. I was having intermittent crashing and freezes while gaming. I had some of the same problems before I got the 6600 but the got worse after the upgrade. My new PSU has an active PFC which keeps the voltages from fluctuating. I havent had a reboot or freeze yet (knock on wood)

Just use the one you have if you have problems with BSOD, freezing, or Random Reboots then get a new one.

I will see if it will work with the original PSU in the Enermax case.Anyone know if it's genuine?Well if it doesn't work I will try and mod the case or something to fit the other PSU inside.

I'm currently running my computer with the same video card on a 350W power supply. I haven't had any problems or random reboots. Works fine.

Forget it.It works perfectly in the case PSU.Matter of fact it's also sharing the rail with 3 fans, the temp display, and front LED lights.
