ac3filter/rear question on alc650....

Hello folks, I got a lot of divx with ac3 streaming... so I use ac3 filter (set to 5.1) to do the things working... But I got a question, since I got no soundstorm and hardware dolby digital ac3 decoder... this filter is like a software decoder right?

So, even I got this ac3 streaming decoded , why my rears can't work? This really sucks... because using realtek speaker test with single channel at once I still havent the rear speakers... and I have tested my rear speakers (put loud volume and get some finger contact to hear amplification) and the rears are perfect...

I have to ask why my rears dont work even with the audio streaming decoded.... is my speakers needing rma or does my onboard sux so much that cant deliver a single signal to my rears even with audio decoded? And one more thing... using nvmixer, I can put my rears to just do delay of the front ones... even this doesnt work... my rears just keep mute...

and yeah the connectors are alright, when I activate matrix on my logitech z5300 the rears get working, but matrix only convert 2channel to all channel with no channel separation... Am I very wrong with my audio concepts?

the reason your rears work is that you have no ac3 decoder. the realtec chip can't do it. so, it just plays in stereo.

the divx movies you are playing are in ac3, but since you have nothing that can decode it, it downmixes to stereo. if you want surround, get an audigy2 or use digital speakers.

so tell me what the hell exactly ac3filter does? Its function is to decode the ac3 streaming to normal 5.1 streaming isnt it? Why there is such thing if it does nothing... and about audigy 2... I dont know if my friend is right, but it dont seems to have hardware dolby digital decoding... maybe he's wrong... are your audigy 2 rears working on dolby digital dvd playback? and about ac3 streaming?

beside all the problem, I got another problem. When I try to test my speakers... even this I cant get my rears... so it is not decoding problem thats bugging me, but the fact that the rears dont work on any circumstance...

since you are not hearing rears with the speaker test, your problem is either in the realtec drivers or the jack definition.

yea, the ac3 filter is supposed to decode. i had never heard of that before now.
