Perhaps he ran is benchmarks with AA and AF enabled also. That would lower them.

    Re: Doom 3 Perfomace

I think you have two probs. a) your rig is not a clean install and b)128megs is too less for res 1280 and above with 4xAA+AF. You can unlock 1000pipes and 2000vertexshaders... it´ll be useless with that ammount of memory
btw: try some tweaks in the config

    Re: Doom 3 Perfomace

    Ok,

I made a fresh install of my system. The nforce2 drive is updated too. My score in 3dmark03 know is 9663. But at Ultra Quality setting (1024*768) and 4X AA, Doom 3 video is not running without bumping graphics. Is it normal?

    Thanks
    Video Card is O/C at 384/786 (12p/6vs)

Ultra is too high of a setting. Try High instead.

    Re: Doom 3 Perfomace

Your video card has 128 megabytes of Ram. To run in Ultra mode in Doom3 you should have 512 megabytes of video ram on your card, which doesn't exist yet for purchase.

Some people have been able to run Ultra with 256M of ram, such as the 6800 Ultra, or an overclocked 6800 GT. I don't know about the 6600's at all. Even with those high end cards, you also need a hell of a cpu to run in Ultra also.

I have a 6800 Ultra and an AMD 64 3500 and I still run Doom3 at High, not Ultra.

You're welcome Fermo! I hope you enjoy the game. The expansion pack is better than the original game IMO if you're interested.

    Re: Doom 3 Perfomace

YOu should be able to find it at a retail store or an online store.

It has a gravity gun much like the one in Half Life 2, a double barrelled shotgun, some new enemies, you get an "artifact" that slows down time, instead of the soul cube, and the pace of the game is quicker, the levels are a bit more varied. Overall it is shorter because it's an expansion pack.

and they were right for the most part, it does indeed run the game right? now if they said you could run any current game at the highest possible sewttings, they're liars and that's definately not a company to buy from.
