I imagine that the background light is just an LED. You could open and snip the wire to the LED. Cover the wire again with electrical tape. Make sure you unplug the speakers from the mains power first![]()

Good point. Forgot to mention that. I have the 640's and the LED on there is pretty bright. Have thought about snipping that a few times, but I figure it's good for troubleshooting. Might find a darker or different colour LED to stick on it.

nahh... now that i think of it...... jus open the control up and get some hobby paint and paint over the led... this u can dull the brightness... and changed the color too.. LOL...

LOL - I knew that suggestion was coming next. If you want something even less permanent, you could put some black electrical tape over it. I like the idea of changing the LED. Might stick an orange one in mine. Orange or red don't seem to be as radiant as blue.Originally Posted by Harpy

The reason I was asking is the visibility factor and I want the text to be readable from the couch cause unless ur right at the console its impossible to read
Is it so bright that it causes glare? Maybe you could get your hands on some sort of tinted adhesive or stick some coloured cellopane over the parts you want to read...

glare isn't the issue for reading the display it is just impossibleto read unless your standing in front of it and looking directly at it
