You're doing fine, don't be too hard on yourself. We all have had times where we found ourselves clueless. Me? It's actually my comfort zone!

I did get an error now, it says error no.23 drv:129 LBA:775 blocks:1
Thats an error from Pcinspector....did it give you a choice to continue ? like abort, retry or skip or something like that ? I believe it's trying to fix cross-links or reconstructing files or something like that, but not sure.
Do you have recovered files ?

I guess you would try retry first then if not try skip.
I don't know how you ran the program, but it will recover files to your c: drive.
If you click on the help>help topics then on contents tab, and English there is a tutorial for
windows is damaged and not bootable

Sorry...that just tells you to load windows on another disk and runCPinspector.
The tutorial has 2 options that you could read through on how to run the program

    1) a volume is lost ie due to damaged file table
    2) files/directories are lost

You have to choose the files/ directories that you want to save,

I would try option 1 first, as I think most of your files will be intact and not corrupt...see what you get.
Option 2 is likely to find all kinds of old files as well and fragments of files.
