I always hear the Folding thing.

Just me but I don't want to contribute to helping kill ANY decease at all. I'm not F@#$%^* with mother nature, I won't help anyone play god. I had an aunt I loved that died of cancer and a friend to Lukemia but I won't do anything about it if I could. It's not my job or my place. It's what was meant to happen just like I'll die someday too. I find it interesting that people can't deal with that knowing damn well how possible and likely it is.

I have nothing against deceases..specially AIDS, man I love that one. It sucks that so many have to die but it also sucks alot more what the over population is doing to the planet. I have nothing against what destiny/fate dealt for us.

Well, with an attitude like yours, maybe they can find some Ebola for you. A society that does not try to improve its fate by caring for its members is surely doomed. I have a sister that survived Leukemia (30 years ago) and I'm glad that the people in her life had a better outlook on life than you. With your philosophy, if you were to find yourself in a ditch with a broken leg, no one should bother to help you out because surely it was meant to be. Or you wouldn't be there in the first place.

Sorry to disappoint but with my desposition and abilities..I've traveled 40 miles with a bullet in my chest, traveled 92 miles across sea on a home made raft away from communism, traveled another 5 miles with another round in my right thigh and a nice gash on my right deltoid possibly your size.

A ditch with a broken leg is something my type would've crawled out of by age 5 with a big smile on my face. Anything else?

Stan, I admire your "edge", I was like that when I was a young man. Fortunately or un fortunately according to how one looks at it, I have mellowed a lot in my old age:

I'm 36 now I doubt I'll ever change..once a soldier always a soldier. I don't see how I haven't taken it easy with anyone here? ?? ?? now I'm confused. I'm not the one wishing ebola on anyone even my worst enemy..or even a cold. I don't wish anything bad on my fellow man if they catch something though that's not my problem or business. I worry about the people I know or the people I love if and when a stranger asks for a helping hand I lend it but I'm not stepping any place I shouldn't be stepping. Like helping combat desease (ok, I spelled it right this time.) or ending a terminal desease.

It sounds harsh but I'm with the other fellow (only the strong survive. like it or not the weak perish the strong live on and keep creating stronger offspring) and I don't apologize for being how I am.

Anyone that doesn't like it or end up with feelings hurt should quietly walk down to the nearest "••••• (or sensitivity support group) clinic" and on the way there stop by the pharmacy to pickup something for that upset stomach they picked up.

Too many sensitive people and what gets me is why do they even read or come to places like this on the web if they can't handle it.

Then there's the arguing type, man let me tell you something..the day you catch me arguing over the net being a "keyboard hero" is the day I'll personally come over your house and put my face up so you can spit on it.

If I think someone is a piece of crap or said something ridiculous or ignorant I just won't reply..is that simple. Things are not as difficult as people make them out to be.

So that's why I don't understand how I haven't taken it easy on anyone.. being that I never argue.

I couldn't see your sig there. It didn't come up.

    HOOOO-AAAAH "cherries jump first"

I saw it brother. I went in with the 10th that night. I don't like talking about any of that..it's done and over with. We took a pounding but I'm glad I was there when I was and did what I had to do. That's something else I don't apologize about doing. The day I meet my maker if there's one..he'll have to forgive me!

And by the way..FINE MEN indeed! We NEED more like that!

Possibly my size what? Substitute anything you want for the ditch - the point was, and it's a shame to have to spell it out, is that many things happen in a person's life. Some are meant to be, some happen because of one's actions and some just happen. I do not believe that every event in my life was predetermined.

It's pretty easy to be macho while sitting at a keyboard, but your aggression and illiteracy do not impress me or incite me. Hopefully you'll mature a little before that Ebola (or a bullet aimed a little higher by a better shot) finds you. I imagine that you get shot at regularly.

Live long and prosper, as my 2nd favorite Vulcan always says.

his views sound very communist, and i mean actual communist, not socialist. maybe he's been reading karl marx's communist manifesto.

survival of the fitest no longer applies to us, we decide who survives now.

improving fate? where? humans did fine with a nice small population until "advancements" started polluting the planet and destroying forests because we need more "living space" and use-once farmland (think south america) im interested in seeing what happens when all the forests are gone... where do our oxygen come from? yeah, this "fate" you love is going to render this planet useless. see you on Mars.

    EDIT:
SuBX3r0, so now we're not animals? survival of the fittest helped keep the ecosystem stable, what will your attitude do?

it'd be quite hard to destroy all the forests. what do you think houses are made of? wood, where do they get that wood? tree farms, yes, that's correct, tree farms. they don't cut them down and leave the land bare, they actually plant new trees that they'll allow to grow from 20 or so years before they're cut down.

i'm a carpenter so it'd be pretty big news if you were to tell me we were running out of trees.

and besides, we're smart and getting smarter, by the time there's any danger we'll have found a way to fix it. have some freaking confidence in your species.

Re: Do you know what folding is?

What about other places in the world? like i mentioned before, tropical rainforests in south america are being cut down for farmland that cant be used again because farming drains the soil of all usable nutrients for a long while. sure "first world" countries are trying to stop these issues, but theyre also the main cause of it, and pollution continues to damage the "unbothered". and it is impossible for the forests we have in the US to be able to give as much oxygen as the thick rainforests down south. but theyre still being cut down because some people make a living off their use-once farm produce. now if they did not exist, those rainforests may have a better chance of still being around. but no, those people are being protected with our save-all attitude, and will keep cutting because they have no other choice.

Actually the subject of this thread was folding. No trees in folding. I, personally, was alluding to the advances in health care. An example: I would surely love to (help) find a cure for Alzheimer's before I reach the point where watching me lose contact with reality demonizes the people that care about me. Assuming I would ever get it anyway. The person with Alzheimer's doesn't suffer - the people around them do.

Re: Do you know what folding is?

yeah i dont like this medical fact... humans did fine maintaining a nice small population for centuries before the 1700s then BOOM! all this medical shit and now even the incredibly weak that should have died out naturally for the more fitter ones to breed a stronger race are walking around everywhere. the main problem i have about it is the GENETIC diseases are being passed down, i mean WTF ARE WE DOING?! so now were stuck with a lot of "weakest links" overpopulating the planet and along with it, killing off some nice wildlife. yeah i love AIDS too, a disease that comes directly from what started this whole problem in the first place. just plain excellence.

yeah i used to fold, but i never liked it... i only did it for the score because its real purpose makes me sick... i want to grasp the whole change clock speed according to usage automatically type thing that would be impossible if i was wasting my electricity keeping the CPU busy all day, so i figured 1000 is a good number to stop at ias u see in my sig.
