Solved >> someone tried to steal a Heatware Identity .. details inside

    http://forums.anandtech.com/messagev...VIEWTMP=Linear

anyone know why this guy would post on AT and not here first?

seems that he would post all of that here since his heat shows most deals here and none at AT

    TeraTank
    teratank@gmail.com

    Name: Brandon Partridge

    Gave contact info:

    Brandon Partridge
    558 Castle Pines Pkwy, Unit B4 #349
    Castle Rock, Co. 80108
    303-437-1209

He deleted the content of all his posts. If you have a deal going with him, STOP NOW!

We have other possible contact info. If the above phone number is a cell or not working, or the address is a postal box, contact us if you need the info.

    omegaman65
    wali365@gmail.com

    Name: Walter Iemiss

IP address is exact match for TeraTank. Under this account, this turkey claimed omega65's heat as his own. His profile says he's from Philadelphia, Pa, but his IP is from Castle Rock, Co.

Re: Need some help.. I think someone might be trying to steal Omega65's Heat and scam

ahah, 10 99$ 74G Raptor, a bunch of FX-55 and 4000+ and 270$ 6800GTs... not a very clever scammer, he could've at least tried to be a little less obvious... same email but gmail vs netscape, both from Pennsylvania, I'd contact Trollhunters and Omega asap...

If this is not omega and I suspect it is not, I have dealt with Wali before and he is a excellent guy to deal with.

I just sent omega a heatware message to confirm whether his account has been hijacked or he's really trying to sell that stuff(I doubt it though). Hopefully he responds, and confronts the hijacker.

Be sure to update your heatware provile with the user names that you use on the forums.

Added ability to add forum aliases to account profile (May 18, 2005)

HeatWare users now have the ability to create a list of forums they are members of and their username on those forums as part of their user profile for other HeatWare users to see. This feature should make it more difficult for users to pass other HeatWare accounts off as their own. Before conducting a deal with someone, ensure that the evaluation page they give you has their forum and their username in the alias list. To add aliases to your account, log-in your HeatWare account, click on 'Account' and goto 'Manage Aliases'. Note: It is strongly recommended that you add a seperate entry for each forum. Do not put your username and 'all forums'.

Didn't catch this post before sending the heatware message. Sorry Omega. I hope an idiot doesn't send that guy cash, and give you bad feedback.
