Re: Post your X2 overclocks inside!

I'm beginning to think I'm going to RMA this Corsair RAM because it can't even run at 270 with 3v with even loose timings. And when I do, my memory score is complete crap, not even 6000. Maybe my board, the Asus A8N-E is poop too.

O well, gotta keep working on it.

This will probably be my 24/7 OC (260X10). I have had some problems so far max OCing this chip, but as you can see it has alot of potential. As you can see on the bottom right, idling at 32C now with Hyper 6 w/ 1.42Vcore, woot!

Some of you may want to try a beta bios to reach the the OC you desire. Use at your own risk!

Ya i know, but once i hit 2650 it doesnt scale up very well with voltage. 2600 takes 1.42, but 2700 takes 1.55 or so. Chances are i just need to go for water cooling. Like others, one of my cores will do 2700 w/ 1.45Vcore, but the other one is more power hungry.

Re: Post your X2 overclocks inside!

From what I see, the current X2 chips have the 2.6 GHz as top healthy frequency. If overclocking does not scale up healthy with voltage from there, then the 2.75 GHz I wanted from a 4400+ will be in dought, or will need a very high voltage, while the CPU might be walking till 2.6.

Re: Post your X2 overclocks inside!

OK. Ordered. Will have the board by Thursday. CPU today:

    DFI NF4 Lanparty SLI-DR
    Athlon 64 X2 4400+

I can't wait to see how it overclocks, yet it'll be some days before I can post the results, cause I first want to PRIME the CPU at stock for 1 day (warm it up) and then I have to remove the heatspreader and re-install the waterblock on it.

*edit* Just recieved the CPU, it reads:

    ADA4400DAA6CD
    CCBWE 0529RPMW
    1286847G50436

It has a very impressive heatsink, but I'll be liquidcooling.

BTW, http://www.hwupgrade.it/forum/printthread.php?t=935362 , this is a link with Athlon 64 overclocks _dangtx_ posted in another thread.

Re: Post your X2 overclocks inside!

Ordered my X2 3800 last night, 1 am EST. Newegg billed me 15 minutes later. Go Egg! Should have it by tomorrow, I overnighted it. Have a CPNS-7700 Al-Cu, one of the better air cooler waiting too. I know my epox can take it high enough, I've run my winnie at 2.6GHz with stock. I think I'm going to want a new PSU though...next purchase I suppose.

Here's hoping for 2.6GHz, that will dbl my cores! 2.8 would be nice too...

Which core did you get? There is the 1MB dual core: Toledo or the 512kb dual core: Manchester.

    (edit...after more research, well if it's a 3800 it's most likely a Manchester)

I hope so. The sure thing is that the Vcore is going to go high, maybe even 2.0V, if there is a proper frequency scaling. If it overclocks more than 2750 MHz, then the memory will also get as much voltage as it needs to keep up at 1:1, 1T command rate and CAS 2.5. Ideal, will be 3.0 GHz with the memory at 1:1 1T, but it's pretty difficult. I'll be happy if I can actually get to 2750, but anything lower than that will leave me displeased.

I'll finish my exams on Thursday and will see what it does, then.
