How do I make this wireless setup encrypted?

I have a cable modem plugged into a linksys hub. the hub goes out to my computer and to a netgear MR814 v2 wireless modem. The wireless modem signal is picked up by another computer here in another room and the connection is unsecured. How do I make this connection secured so others can't pick up the signal? Sorry for my newbness!

Re: How do I make this wireless setup encrypted?

You have to go to the web address for the router (should be in the manual) and enable encryption. Depending on the router and the wireless adapter in the computer, WPA or WEP, WPA is better. Establish an encryption key. Then go to the computer and sign on using the same encryption key. There are some other ways of making it more secure, like limiting who can access the wireless signal, check around on the wireless options that should come up when you sign onto the router.
