    ICS to linux folders?

I tried to find out if this was possible in the Faq's, but did not find a solution.
I am lookind to use my desktop as a gateway for my folders. My DSL modem and netgear wireless and wired router are very finicky about how they are set up.
How would I set up an ICS system for linux folders? I found this on how to set up ICS, and beyond that, how difficult is it to run Mandrake 10.1's through my Windows 2000 Pro?
I plan on using a switch, most likely a 5 or 8 port.
    Thanks, haven't done much networking!

    Re: ICS to linux folders?

Once you get ICS setup on the Windows machine, the Linux machines will have no trouble connecting through it. However, if you have a router, why would you want to use ICS?

    Re: ICS to linux folders?

To get the router and the modem to work took some severe fiddling. For some reason, both the modem and the router wanted to dial up, and so it was necessary to connect the modem through the hub rather than the modem hookup. And for some reason, all ports but the one that my computer is hooked up to won't get an internet connection. And yes, the wireless capabilities are still there, my dad has a very stable signal.
Thanks! Time to get all the components out and get to work!

Cool. You could greatly simplify things by letting the modem make the connection if it wants and set the router up for DHCP. Then anything that you connected to the router should be able to reach the Internet.
