I had a powermax 420w psu and it only lasted about 6 months. Then, POP, nothing....

I'd keep looking, if I were you.

    Here. Check this

I keep seeing and hearing bad things about Powmax PSU's. Stick with something like Enermax or Antec. Sure there more money but it's worth it when it comes to power supplies.

    Look through these:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...srchInDesc=sli

This one: http://www.xclio.com/product_04-a.htm http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817189003 has a decent enough price and the reviews seem good. I havent ever used the xclio brand, however. Me? I'd go for this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817703001 as I have several already and they are top drawer. Perhaps more than necessary, however.
Main Rig: EVGA 141-BL-E769-A1 LGA 1366 Intel X58 CLASSIFIED/WATERCOOLED ED. cooled by the Monster Water Cooling Setup

I think that you should look at the PC Power and Cooling SLI PSU. Its the best out there currently.

Powmax a joke? Pretty much. They are just one step above the dreaded Deer units if I am not mistaken.
In other words, steer clear of them if you value your system.

580w? ... yeah, maybe at room temp or under 50% load. Likely you would get better performance
    from a quality 400w unit.

Those Xcilo are supposed to be a great PSU for the price from what I've read. Lots of positive
posts about them in the OCing forums.

And of course the PCP&C unit is a good choice if you have the ca$h.

Another good choice, IMO. I wouldn't power a machine up w/ a Powmax power supply in it.
