    First I've heard of it.

What did they get in return? New silk pyjamas & a Humvee for Kim Il Jung?

Glad to see that progress is being made.....time will tell if they really mean it. But for the time being, congrats to all who deserve it.

Well I think most understand his decision to reactivate his nuclear program so publicly was a ploy to get attention anyway, guess it worked. Kimmy needs $$ and power. His economy is in the $hitter and he needed more aid.

n exchange, the United States, China, Japan, Russian and South Korea have "stated their willingness" to provide energy assistance to North Korea, as well as promote economic cooperation.
The big question here is will they stick to it..

It's hard to get excited over the words of a lying dictator. It sure would be nice though.

Another question: How much it'll cost us this time?

I'm sure it will cost us more than a few well placed nuclear tipped cruse missiles to the existing structures will cost.

OK,OK.....I'm being facetious (well, at least 80%)!

The man received how many years of fuel oil, medical supplies & food from us, all the while continuing on with research & development of these programs.

WHY SHOULD WE BELIEVE HIM NOW?????

Re: N. Korea agrees to Disband nuclear program.

Im sure its gonna cost plenty as well. But cash is a reasonable alternative.
Now If I were Bush? Id take big time advantage of the deal. Id be sending one of my jets to get this guy...and the others party to the agreement and fly them into DC to get the wrinkles worked out. I would do a big welcome deal for this guy. Show him around the country...even take him to Disneyworld and spring for the rides...assuming he passes the height requirement of 4'8". Id show him all the benefits of our economic system. All the porn areas in NYC....the works. Take him to a few shows off Broadway. You know...in american tradition...make him my new "best friend". Then see exactly how much of our stuff he wants to buy compared to how much of his "junk" he wants to pass of to us so we can keep railroad salvage and dollar stores supplied. If all he has is cheap stuff...like the crap we get in .50 vending machines, the visit is over.

    [Im kidding of course]

Re: N. Korea agrees to Disband nuclear program.

Why did Bush avoid talks like this in order to settle things peacefully with Iraq , probably because invading korea would ellicit no personal benefit for Bush, the main motive for most of what Bush does, his own personal benefit. And before the war lets say Saddam Hussien agreed to disband his weapons program, the majority of republicans on this forum would call and urge that we send weapons inspectors, you guys are actually taking a bat shit insane dictators word? This is a joke.

I hope this agreement works better than Jimmy Carter diplomacy.

We tried for 12 years bro. Where were you? In a time warp?

probably because invading korea would ellicit no personal benefit for Bush, the main motive for most of what Bush does, his own personal benefit.
Yes, so much personal benefit. Can you provide links to how much money Bush has made due to the war?

We are bringing in inspectors. It was on page 8 of the Long Beach Press Telegram. Want me to take a photo of it for you? Its all tucked away in the back corners of the paper so people don't see the article.

I know WE can't all be pessimestic. Only the dems can.

^^^ That's the MSM for ya. During the election the MSM/dems were all over nuclear proliferation as the #1 threat to our security with NK coming up all the time as a HUGE issue. Now that there are signs of progress(no matter how shallow it may turn out to be), crickets from the MSM.
