128-bit or 256-bit memory on my 9800 pro?

Hi guys. I recently pulled a 128mb 9800 Pro from my friend's Dell XPS and we both are wondering if it's a card with 128-bit or 256-bit card memory. The sticker on the back does not say much. But anyways, some pictures are provided below to show what it looks like (if that even helps). Thanks!

actually there are some cards out there with 128bit busses sold as "9800 pro" cards. They're out there. I think powercolor sold some that way.

sup3rcarrx7, your friend's card is a 256bit version. no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

If I remember right there was a Sapphire model on Newegg that alot of people were complaining about being labeled as a pro but actually used the 128bit instead of the correct 256bit. It looks as if yours is the 256bit version though.

The 9800Pro was originally specified with a 256-bit memory bus, and as such, that's what would be the ideal version to get. Sapphire had a 128-bit 9800Pro that was done when ATi decided to reconsider (in order to make their XT and X800 look better).

    a 256-bit 9800Pro is your ideal choice.

Those conclusions are likely your own and they do not really sound right as Ati never condoned the 128-bit 9800Pro nor ever put out such a card under Ati-label.

How did you guys tell it was a 256-bit memory version? Did you look at those green marks on the capacitors or something or the heatsinks they used?

The type of memory and how it is arranged around the core in L-shape gives it away as 256-bit.

The pics you linked are a card with 3.3ns memory if I'm not mistaken.....

    Making it a 9800 non-pro... (still with 256-bit interface - and still better than a 128-bit 9800pro)

IF that is a pic of your accual card

Yup those are pics of the actual card. But in Windows when I go to display properties or whatever, it clearly states it's a 9800 Pro. (look at my third linked pic i think)
