Well holy hell, this might mean even more damnation for ATI?

Just curious what you guys think about this card, and dual-GPU on a single card SLI setups in general...?

awsome, decent looking HSF...and some nice clockspeed on that memory...now if it only costs as much as a single 7800gt, then I would be all for it!!
my question is thoug, why not dual 7800gtx?

i dunno how they'll fly,
Gigabyte has had the dual GPU cards out, and they are not to popular it seems.

*question ? **** can the dual GPU's cards be used in SLI for effectively 4 GPU's ???

Can a SLI-in-one-slot video card work 100% in a non-SLI motherboard?
not sure about the Asus, but according to Gigabyte :Originally Posted by Judas

mousepotato: No, I believe there was an article on this on Anand. I am basing my info on a few months old data. Unless the 85.xx series of nv drivers allow you to run 4 in one, which I think it does but it wont give you 4x the performance.
Judas: No, I believe it will work as a single card solution, no SLI. GJ on the quote mouse.

Right now, NVIDIA does not support four GPUs for SLI, as the firm presently does not intend to go in that direction.

I am expecting my card on Monday, and I'll do some prelim benchmarks and compatibility testing and get the results up ASAP.
I will be very interested to see your bench marks.
My 7800GTX will run 3Dmark05 at 8106 with no OC, and the bench in the article for the dual core is 11138. About 35% higher than mine, am wondering what the price of the board will be.
Now if the board is only 35% more...........

If you look at the picture of the board there is no tab for the SLI bridge.
Looks like SLI is not an option.

I couldn't care less about SLI with two of these cards running, what I am curious about is whether a non SLI board can run this card in one PCIE slot with both cores running simultaneously. From what I remember reading about the Gigabyte card the card ran in SLI however from one slot. I hope this isn't the case with this card. Single slot solution with two gpus on one card. Unbelievable. This would turn me away from ATI for the first time ever.

If the card is coming to you Monday does that mean they are done and ready to ship and sell in general? I am in the market for a new video card and was waiting on the new ATI cards however would grab this in an instant if my local shops stocked them.

Shoot, it needs its own power supply, thats insane enough, 2 would be overkill, the one card already is, just imagine when they finally go dual core on one die for graphics cards, you could implement up to maybe 4 gpus in a single slot card if it was done correctly, or at least keep the card length in check on a single dual cored die one, just look at that sob, reminds me of the ol school days when some of the ISA cards were that long and you actually needed those front case plastic brackets to keep the cards in place, some folks might not even be able to consider this if thier case is cramped, pretty sad when you have to base your case decisions around the graphics card
