    64 3000 Venice E3

Anyone know of a thread where I can see what other people are accomplishing with this chip? I'm at 1.55 in bios 280 x 9 roughly 2.5 ghz.. seems kind of low, but perhaps I need more juice. I did a search for venice 3000 and didn't find any kind of results page.

    Help?

indeed, i remember those 1700's that people were gettin g to double in speed, a 100% overclock is just insane.

You could try for a bit more, my 3000nVenice is 2700 (300x9) with 1.55 x 8% on a crappy old 420W Task PSU.

My YBBLE does 2600 with 1.55 Vcore (~289x9) it DID hit 2700 for a little bit, but I think it needs more Vcore, as it booted into windows, but quickly froze up. I did have my ram on a divider too, so that wasnt the problem.

Yeah give it a bit more juice. 1.55 +8% for me (MSI's CoreCenter reports 1.6V) works nicely, idle is 25degC with Stock Cooling. Gonna shift this CPU into my sig rig, see what it can do there...

1.55 is the max my board puts out for Vcore, and it reads 1.48-1.52 in cpuz too.

I'm testing out a 3500 right now as i just couldn't get enough out of that 3000. But, i dont kow if the extra 100 mhz or so i'm getting out of the clock is worth it for 100 bucks

    Cool Re: 64 3000 Venice E3

Swapped the 3000 into my sig rig.

    320x9=2880MHz @ 1.55

    Love those temps.

Won't prime (some wierd error message), but 100% stable in all apps I use. Gonna flick on FarCry and see how we go...

    Re: 64 3000 Venice E3

The E3 revisions overclocked better then the E6 revisions on average.
    And as far as i know an E6 would do +/- 2.4Ghz at 1.4v, 2.5Ghz at 1.5v, 2.6Ghz at 1.6v.
So your E3 overclocks kinda like an E6 and even then it's a little below average.

Of course it still the luck of the draw, but maybe the heatspreader doesn't make good contact.

If u see it as a 3000+ that runs at 2.5Ghz it does sound pretty good, but as an E3 Venice core that needs 1.55Vcore to do 2.5Ghz that's that not good at all. Are you sure it's the CPU holding u back and not the memory or maybe mainboard that can't handle the high HT?

those voltages sound about right for my venice, sucks seeing guys get the same oc i have at stock voltage, while it takes me about 1.68v. but mine is an e3. perhaps it's the e6's that overclock better?

ah well, temps are super low though.

I guess there are always exceptions but in general the E6 cores overclock less good compared to the E3 revisions and most E6 cores i've seen (and had) overclock pretty much the way i said before.
