Thermaltake is for posers. It's whats inside that counts. I can have that case with the flowers but it can house the 7800GTX SLI, 4800+X2 CPU, etc. and just kick your PC's ass. Whereas all the people I know who own a Xaser case have a P4 ranging from 2.2ghz to 2.8ghz, 256mb-512mb RAM, onboard Intel EXTREME VGA - Geforce FX 5200 or Radeon 9200, and a 40gig HDD.

I mean come on. IF you're going to get a Xaser for "intimidation" at a LAN party, at least have the hardware to back it up.

Directron has it's own line of ugly cases. Perfect for your next lan party. Just spray a little perfume on the case fans of your flowered case and your all set:

    Re: UGLY Case thread

Most of you guys are probably too new to remember the heated Lian Li vs. Xaser debates we would have in this forum back in the day.

Xaser does pretty much take the cake (or at least a big slice at the corner with all the icing on it) but Thermaltake has learned a lot about making a classy looking case since then.

    Cool Re: UGLY Case thread

The Lian-Li case is meant to be used seriously, and is in fact, larger than most full towers. It offers the possibilities of good cooling with the major drawback being the mesh sides. They allow just too much dust to pass through to your components.

Hank at www.performance-pcs is going to try to replace the mesh with windows, which would allow fans on both sides, even cooling the underside of the mounted motherboard.

So, as you can see the possibilities, and the look is like nothing else yet seen
