actually lenny i think it was where you were standing.

that crashed helicopter seems to have invisible bariers in it. i've had similar things happen when shooting someone near that thing. it looks like you can shoot through it, but it's actually solid.

you can tell that that's the problem because the other guy appears to be spraying you with bullets too and it's not doing you any damage either.

either way it's still pretty messed up.

I just got the game installed Saturday. I just got my first ban from a server tonight.

    Quick learner I guess.

The fact that I've never been banned is a testimony to my skill (or lack thereof) I guess

    Good point LOL.

Tom, I doubt any server admin would grow tired of fragging you and I relentlessly

Yeah, I only have 5 hours logged. I didn't think I was doing that well. I was playing on a server called "Full Metal Jacket", and apparently it's for "new players only...experienced players will be kicked." Kept getting messages like that on it.

I'm only up to lvl 17. Like a 1.3:1 kill ratio going...so now I get to goto these other servers and get my ass handed to me. I'm the guy still asking what the red blips are/don't know the maps/etc.

And I figured out how to add Favorite servers. Seems there's an "Add Favorites" button, but the stupid thing only works when you have "Favorites" selected for the Source.

One more thing before I go starting a new thread...is it normal that when I'm right next to somebody, and they're blasting away - to not really hear the gun going off. Yet when I see them kill me on kill-cam, it's nice and loud BANG BANG BANG like a gun should be?

Somethin tells me this onboard SoundMAX audio on my new rig sucks.

sounds like you may have a 5.1 speaker setup and you're using headphones to play? if that's the case you have to switch to headphones in the game settings s well as the control panel for your sound options. otherwise you only get 2 channels in your headphones and miss out on the other 3.

Yeah sorry, forgot to mention I'm using headphones. The board is an Asus Maximus Formula (X38). The software gave me shit when I plugged my headphones into the green jack on the back of the PC. Told me to not use that one and use the one on the front panel of the Antec P182 case, which is connected to the HDAUDIO port on the sound expansion card in the PCIE 1X slot. I've got headphones selected in the SoundMAX software, Windows Control Panel, and CoD4 set to "Stereo" in the audio options.

I'll try it with them plugged into the front panel real quick, see if I notice a difference.

Good way to keep the pcper server rolling: team up on one person after they suggest evening the teams out skill wise. Bravo.

we didn't realize it was you man, apologies are in order. we honestly didn't realize it was another forum member, we thought you were being a smart alec when you asked to even since it was two on two.

in all honesty we generally do try to even out based on skill, unless we have enough pubbers for all the forum members or frogs to get on one team, then it generally is uneven and not in our favor.

again i'll apologise, had we known it was you we wouldn't have teamed up against you on the last map.

hope you'll give our server another try, you were kicking some butt and we sincerely thought you were just talkin smack, we've had our fair share of smack talkers on there so we obviously made a mistake.

    hope there's no hard feelings.

we're always on our my teamspeak server when we play, so anytime you hop on with us we'll be in there.

Eh it's all good. I was just trying to get it even when I first suggested a switch, I think you and I were 14-5 to the other two guys' 4-15 scores. I didn't mean to come off sounding like an ass. Oh well, no harm done, no hard feelings...I didn't do too bad 3-on-1 anyways . I've actually been getting back into playing a bit more lately, so if I see some of you on xfire again like I did today, I've got no problem joining up again.

^^^ Might want to join team speak too that helps in the confusion also. Especially since you don't use your forum name while in the game.
