A few months ago in the south of France, gangs of locals were attacking foreign wine tankers. Apparently the French are drinking less wine than before and there are cheap imports flooding in. This is putting pressure on the local wine industry and costing jobs.

"Youths" in France hijacked and burned at least three buses last night, which would bring the total to four:
Youths forced passengers off three buses and set the vehicles on fire overnight in suburban Paris, raising tensions Thursday ahead of the first anniversary of the riots that engulfed France's rundown, heavily immigrant neighborhoods. About 10 attackers — five of them with handguns — stormed a bus in Montreuil east of Paris early Thursday and forced the passengers off, the RATP transport authority said. They then drove off and set the bus on fire.
Late Wednesday, three attackers forced passengers off another bus in Athis-Mons, south of Paris, and tossed a Molotov cocktail inside, police officials said. The driver managed to put out the fire. Elsewhere, between six and 10 youths herded passengers off a bus in the western suburb of Nanterre late Wednesday and set it alight.
Regional authorities said the Nanterre bus line, which passes near Paris' financial district, had not been considered at a high risk of attack. Francois Saglier, director of bus service at the RATP, said the attacks happened "without prior warning and not necessarily in neighborhoods considered difficult."
No Pasaran! has more, including this description of one of the hijackings:
The most spectacular incident took place at 1AM between Bagnolet and Montreuil. A gang of 10 pistol wielding hooded youths boarded the bus. One of the assailants placed his gun on the side of the bus driver's head and ordered him to get out of his seat. The gang commandeered the bus, drove it a short distance and torched it in a neighboring suburb. Appropriately enough, the bus was torched at Montreuil's Lenin Square.

The anniversary car fires are starting a bit early...lol. Shhhh. French still seem unwilling to see there is a problem with unmitigated immigration and lack of integration. They better get used to the idea of a 2 state(at least) solution if they are unwilling to confront the issues.

I wonder how many weeks of suppressing ignoring the story the TV media will take this time.

What do you mean "this time"?? It never stopped...lol. There have been nightly car-ber-que's in France for nearly a year now. It's only getting mentioned now again as the radical(2+ stater's) are ramping up for the anniversary.

France has some of the strictest gun laws in the world.
How do people defend themselves there as riots break
out in their neighborhood ? I know how some did it out
here in Ca ? At least how some the Koreans did it as well
as a few middle class neighborhoods that were in the areas.

When the early 90's riots cranked up down in South L.A
and moved around, Gates underestimated all the
"people" who went on the warpath. Some Korean
families whose business were in the way of the fires
and the trampling stood their ground and fired in the
direction of anyone who looked like they were after
their little store. I remember the pics of the sons
standing outside the store armed taking care of
business. This store was just a few left undamaged.

We have riots like France is having here, at least out
east of L.A., some people won't hesitate to protect
their property or neighborhoods. I have 5 neighbors
who I've gone shooting with and we've all agreed.
SHTF, we're watching each others backs and places,
armed serious if need be. No BS, no excuse.

Sorry to once again go off topic.

lol yes, give them all guns that'll solve it. I agree that it will lower the rioting population but wheather that's something to be called a good thing is something else.
So far there have not been much fatalities because of the riots. I think the fatalities can be counted on one hand, with the two people running from the cops and electrocuting themselves included.
I think there will be a lot more fatalities if they all have guns.
Maybe shooting your way out is your way of doing things but it isn't over here.
Maybe New Orleans should help you understand. Or do I need to remind you that even emergency officials have been under gunfire there. Oh wait, I just did

The thing is that these people have been on the margin of society for as long as they can remember. They're packed in the same neighbourhoods and pretty much left there to be forgotten. Crime rate in such neighbourhoods is very high and police take them on very very hard. This is the result of years long isolation of these people. But they should at least try themselves to get out of the situation instead of starting car fires and complaining to themselves and the rest on how bad it is.

They need a dictator to do that it seems.

In the meantime I think its a great idea for business owners to shoot on sight when the riot nears their property. Who knows what side-effects it might cause, but I'd bet there would be less rioting.

    lol...

No way man. It would increase the rioting with a mathematical power.
2 blokes are dead because they ran from authority figures. Massive rioting for a few weeks and and a whole year of car burnings. What do you think will happen when other authority figures like business owners start firing at the rioters?

You know, shooting people is usually not the right thing to handle things
