    Fragmentation

The fragmentation for laptop seems out of control. Check out these screen shots. Why doesn'tt defraging just take care of it? It seems to get a little better each time I de-frag - but not much.

    Re: Fragmentation

Maybe your defragmenter is defragmenting the drive very well. Try a boot-time defragmentation run.

Did that. Didn't seem to change. Are there any settings I should know about?

I don't use Diskeeper, as it never did anything more for me than the built-in defragmenter.

Perhaps someone else here has a clue.

    Re: Fragmentation

That is pretty bad. You may want to invest in O&O defrag, it has a few more options and seems to do a more thorough job for me than Diskeeper.

Consider trying VOPT. It is my favorite and you can try it before purchase. Don't let the plain-looking website fool you. The company has been around for ages.

I have been using Raxco PerfectDisk for many years. I strongly suggest it over all others.

Tryin' it right now. You feel it defrags better than Diskeeper?

I defraged with it, and Diskeeper still says I'm 28% fragmented. ? ?

    In my experience, yes.

VOPT is faster for me and I prefer its config options.
