RME Multiface PCI and ATI chipset: trouble?

I'm getting ready for my next upgrade and am awaiting new motherboards based on the ATI RD580 chipset. I have heard from RME tech folks that I should stay away from ATI boards with RME hardware.

Does anyone know the nature of these problems? Is it the north bridge only? South as well? The Asus A8R-MVP is based on the north RD480 and south ULi 1575. Might this work alright?

Otherwise, any idea whether the ATI RD580s will fix whatever problems there are with this?

    Thanks!

Re: RME Multiface PCI and ATI chipset: trouble?

All you can really do is hope for the best. I have no experience with ATI chipsets and have not known previously of any problems between ATI chipsets and RME cards.

Chances are that the RME techs might be referring to older ATI chipsets.
