    Re: Killer Frogs Predictor Team

Are you guys going to stay and crunch for Predictor or go back to Seti?
If you want to go after some teams I would switch over my farm from CDPN.
I just don't want to be the only one here.

    Re: Killer Frogs Predictor Team

I for one will be here for the long haul.

Switched over after classic ended, and it seems that they don't have enough work for the people they already have.

This is a little closer to home for me now, after I had a family member taken.

So time to look for some help for whats right in front of us.

    Come on back Mike...

I think you will see people doing one, the other or both. I am more into the medical side as I lost my father to cancer and would like to think I can make a difference. We have some of the Seti folk that use Predictor as a place to fall back on when Berkely has problems. Your efforts are always more than welcome here in the Pond on whatever projects you choose.

I have wondered a bit about CPDN but heard a few stories about the time needed to process a work unit and the potential to lose progress at a restart. Perhaps you can educate me. Thanks Mike.

    Re: Killer Frogs Predictor Team

CDPN runs great. I have no problems at all once I find my highest stable overclock.
The part I like is if the server goes down you don't run out of work. Work units take 3-6 weeks on my x2's. The x2's average 800+ credits a day. There is no claiming 30 and getting 11. Credits are given at certain timestamps. 10802-21604-ect. Crunch a sulpher model get 17000+ credits crunch a slab model get 6800 credits. If you error out on one you don't lose the credits you earned.

    X2-4400@2500mhz= 800+Credits per day
    Amd 3200+@2300mhz= 400+Credits
    Amd XP-M 2400mhz= 300+Credits
    Amd TB 1333mhz=150+Credits
    Intel P3-933mhz=105Credits

I crunched seti for 5 years and they have found nothing. They have more people than they need, giving out the same work units 7 or 8 times, what a waste. I felt I should focus my time trying to help people somehow. I watched my mom die of cancer, Nasty way to go.....

I transferred all my accounts back to the frogs..

Can someone post a sticky with links to our team stat pages. Seti, Predictor, Enstein, CPDN, ect... either Boinc stats or Synergy... Thanks....

    Re: Killer Frogs Predictor Team

    MJD,

I want it clear that there is no animosity towards any member of the pond..... whether they be seti, predictor, folding, whatever...... there is no competition for members. Every project the pond has I consider worthy on its own merits.

with recent changes, we have made an attempt to make all the distributed computing teams feel as one, with members encouraged to run more than one project, even run two (OR MORE) projects at the same time! (why limit your fun! ) Even seti administrators have encouraged members to contribute to other projects.

Soon folding will go boinc, and we will have a new team site for all the froggies together! we will be one Boinc Team, with the ability to get all our teams here at the pond tops in the world. And just think if one project needed a little help, it would be easy to do so! thus join in the fun in stomping some other poor old team!

So don't fret friend, all is well at the pomd, with the potential to have more fun than we ever have before.

    hope this helps!

    Don't forget rule #1, don't drink thelmore's beer
    and rule#2 states "HAVE FUN!"

OK, SO IT'S OFF A LITTLE, SO WHAT!

Now where is my beer stash!

I have no problems with anyone here at all. I like being part of this team and forum. I was just stating my opinion of Seti, not trying to cause problems.

Having our own Boinc site would be great, it would help tie us all together again.

    Re: Killer Frogs Predictor Team

np at all bro, i know you had no malice, just trying to point out that it is still "just about having fun", now we just have alot more opportunity!

notice seti forum is gone, and the seti bar is gone, or more accurately, have been renamed "the boinc bar" and "boinc" forum!

subtle change, but means alot to the future of our DC teams..... we will be one huge team!

enouh talkin, get to crunchin whatever, as long as it is for the "Killer Frogs"!
