    Can't Read Blue Screen

Hey Gang, how do you freeze a blue screen on boot, long enough to read what it says? Thanks.

    Assuming Windows XP?

    Two things you can do.

First, if you can get into the Desktop, either in regular or Safe Mode, try going to right-click My Computer ->Properties (or Control Panel->System) ->Advanced->Startup and Recovery->Settings and Uncheck "Automatically Restart". That should leave you at the blue screen when it happens.

Also, you can find the error in the Event viewer, again assuming that you can get there in regular or Safe Mode.

Also assuming Windows XP. You could also try tapping F8 during boot-up of your machine to get the menu that allows you to choose safe mode. Look down the list, the 9th option on the menu should be "Disable Automatic Restart On System Failure". Enable this first, then continue on into Normal Mode and it should display the blue screen.

It's in Administrative tools, either from the start menu or in control panel

Or, right click My Computer->Manage->Event Viewer.
