I purchased this mb along with an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice. Put everything together and have run into a couple problems...
1. When the system boots, it recognizes the cpu frequency as 200mhz? It should be 1GHZ, no?
2. I am also having problems with memory and the computer booting. I have 2 sticks of crucial pc2100 and 2 sticks of ocz pc3200. The only way I can get the computer to boot is using 1 stick of the pc2100 in slot 1, it will not boot with the 2nd stick in slot 2. If I just try the pc3200 1 or 2 sticks it also will not boot.
Will flashing the bios correct some of these problems?
The 3200+ is a 2 GHz chip ...at boot it should say Athlon 64 3200 , mentioning eventually
if it is overclocked and the overclocked bus speed ( 200 is your bus speed x the multiplier , in your case 10x).
Regarding the memory sticks : you should take care when using different speed memory sticks in dual channel mode ( sticks seated in same colour slots work in dual channel).
For a proper functioning you shuold flash the BIOS with the latest F7 which allows you to set memory ratios .
