you can't. it is not possible.

the front panel expansion pins on the audidy2 contain NO analog signals that you can use. The only pins useful to anything other than the platinum drive bay panel are a SPDIF input and output.

If your card has the white J1 connector along the top edge of the card (near the mounting bracket), then it is possible to connect the front panel hookups to the card. See this here,

    http://www.driverheaven.net/showpost...&postcount=257

    for the pin-outs.

thanks, but that didnt work, the connectors on my front panel are too long for those connectors. Is there an adapter to fit that connector?

I didn't know this and I'm the resident expert on these cards (basically ).

I had always suspected the 10-pin connector did something useful. Perhaps this should be made a sticky.

yea, but if the connectors that i assume are on most front ports dont fit around the pins, it seems useless.

Re: audigy 2 zs and front audio ports

I have seen some threads on this where people have gotten creative (no pun intended) when it comes to connecting the F/P to the J1. This one here is about the best I have seen,

    http://www.techimo.com/forum/t156658.html

(second last post). What the guy did was take a couple of old cd drive audio cables and make/modify a 10 pin connector. I have also seen where someone went so far as to solder wires to the pins on th J1, and connect the F/P wires to them.

Don't know about the fit, but if you have an electronics supply you might even be able to find something like this,

    http://www.action-electronics.com/molex.htm#Kk

    that might do the kob.
