sata HD is recognized as a romovable disk?

It has been like this since i built my computer. It is a baracuda 250gb sata, and is shown down in the right hand corner as being removable hardware. Is there anyway to fix this so it isnt shown at all? I hate it because when I put in a key drive, and remove it I dont want to accidentally remove the HD!

    Thanks

IIRC that's normal on a nvidia based mobo. If its your O/S drive then windoze won't let you remove it anyway.

i get the same message, however, it doesnt bother me, I guess it could be removed by right clicking the start button > properties > taskbar tab > customise button > safely remove hardware (behaviour: select always hide)

Yes this is part of the Nforce3-4 chipset, it fully support hotswapping on a Non-Operating System drive. So no you won't remove it by mistake.

Some have reported that if you use the MS IDE drivers this will not appear.

not quite part of the chipset but rather part of the SATAII specifications. MS drivers simply dont enable enhenced feature that SATAII bring, like hot swapping or NCQ.. 2 things not really usefull in normal user desktop uses...

Well I get it on the Nforce3 board not SataII.
But yes the controller is supporting more of the specs of SataI and SataII, the one being hotswapping.

Though SataI states it supports hotswapping not many of the SATAI controllers actually support it .
