You have to elaborate more. Its it the digital noise because you have your volume turned up to high and not the settings on the pc.?

96s10, double click on the volume icon in the system tray, then select OPTIONS/PROPERTIES/PLAYBACK.

Put a check mark in the PC SPEAKER line so it will show up in the volume panel.

Then in the volume panel MUTE the pc speaker. I think the speaker is probably acting like an antennae picking up a lot of ef noise.

You don't need the pc speaker turned on anyway.

    Which one?

Raver's "fix" of buying a new card? I guess that could be ccalled a fix.

There are three actual fixes put forward on page two, which one was sweet?

    Is it this one?:

In one the CD audio was enabled and set high, in the other it was disabled.
Sure enough disabling the CD audio removed all the noise.

You should disable any audio where the input is open and not connected to a signal.

    Or this one?

With that disconnected the amount of feedback is greatly reduced, enough to make the onboard audio usable. There is still a slight hiss but no more so than some other onboard audio solutions in my other motherboards.

Another user on another forum said he got less feedback when using the PWR_FAN connector instead of the CHA_FAN1 connector, this made no difference for me however.

If this helps please let me know.
Which one was the fix? There iss no response to any of them.

Sorry, just really want to know what fixed it for you, and I'm still not positive I know what it was. Muting sounds like something on volume control.

Do you mean that disconnecting the PC speaker connection on the Front Panel jumper block fixed the background sound problem?

Re: A8N32 onboard sound, background noise??

Alright.. revisiting an old post here.. Having an issue that sounds the same with my roommates computer...

    A8N32 SLI

Onboard sound has a hissing background noise while in game.. I did download Nvidia Audio driver which helped a bit with "Night Mode" checked.. Have no clue what this did... Any ideas?...

This is all happening while being plugged into front panel onboard audio..

My second issue is that I cannot get the REAR audio ports to work!... I tried unplugging the front panel audio all together to see if there was some type of override due to them being plugged in, I checked BIOS, nothing seems to work..

    What am I doing wrong??...

Re: A8N32 onboard sound, background noise??

Sounds like your front panel does not allow for rear audio when connected.
If you unplug the front panel connector(s), to get rear audio back you'll need to put jumpers back on the fp_audio header. It should show in the manual on page 2.28 as blue blocks on the header

This thread was on noise issues, might help you.

CMB.. That is what I thought.. Funny thing is.. The Mobo didn't come with jumpers there..

Couldn't find it in the manual either.. Will check under the page # that you gave me.. Thank you..

Manuals and other downloads are available in the sticky post at A8N->A8N32->Downloads.

If you have no jumpers on the front panel jumper block, you will hear no sound through the jacks on the back.
