    Did you test each core individually to see if one is holding you back?

    Boxcar,

    Congrats on 2.8Ghz! That were I'm sitting on my Opty 148 at the moment (11*255) with a stock HSF and AsRock max vCore of 1.45. My southbridge chip seems to be getting pretty hot so I'm going to add a better heatsink and see if that helps. My CPU hits about 46C when running Prime ao I think I've got a little room left. May have to work harder for that last bit of goodness.

    Raybo,
    The 148 is a single core CPU.

    What HTT multiplier should I have when using that setting though? I had it at htt x3, 280 FSB, 10x mult.

    I ordered a 6 pack of 80mm fans (better deal than buying 2 lol), so I'll be installing a few, not sure where yet though.

    BTW, thanks to all for the help . I understand a lot more of what I'm doing now, although I'm still lost on the memory thing lol.

    Boxcar,

    My setting are:
    11*255
    memory ratios 800mhz (5:6 divider)
    vDimm = high
    vCore = 1.45

    CPU maxes out at 260
    Ram maxes out at 215
    HTT maxed out at 265

    I used the following to help guide me in getting started.

    Re: Opteron 148 Overclocking... What's up with this?

    (CABYE stepping Opteron 148)

    I was able to reach 11 x 273= 3003Mhz @ 1.45v (Stock cooler)
    As soon as I went to 11 x 257 (2.85Ghz), I had to go from 1.35v to 1.375v for stability.
    The next step was at 11 x 264 (2.90Ghz), I had to go to 1.425v for stability.
    From any settings of 11 x 268-273, it req. 1.45v
    Final goal reached was @ 11 x 273 (boards max.? with official 1.20 BIOS???) for 3GHZ @ 1.45v

    I did not try to go any higher yet, because of the claim that the board may not go any higher on the FSB/HTT with this official BIOS from Asrock.

    Make sure your board is always running in "ASYNC" mode when overclocking.
    Try the 600mhz HTT for a good conservative, safe level for (higher) overclocking.
    Make to use a divider on memory if it can't support the high FSB that the CPU runs at.
    Good luck.

    Still waiting on my case fans from Newegg. Could someone explain to me what a divider is and how I can find out which one I should run?

    Most people are finding the power supply that comes with the Qpack is a piece of garbage. The Enermax Liberty seems to be the replacement of choice because of its size.

    Well, that's really nice to know, I have a Lite-On drive so once I get the money, I'll definatly be buying a larger PSU.
