Re: AMDMB Members' Recently Purchased Items Thread

Nothing too exciting but a few days ago I had to get this for my trusty old Maglite rechargeable flashlight:

12+ years on the original battery pack is pretty darn good!

Then of course I see this and I want it:

What can I say. I've always had a bit of a flashlight fetish.

New watch time and as I'm a geek when it comes to watches I went with this one:

    Altimeter? Check

    Barometer? Check

    Thermometer? Check

Solar powered and atomic time signal capable? Check

    That's quite the watch indeed

I have bad luck with the backlight on watches. It seems no matter what watch I buy the button to turn on the backlight either stops working or becomes very difficult to press after a year or so. Most recently it's my Timex Expedition. Funny thing is I don't even use the backlight all that much.

Ha. I have an old Casio that did the exact same thing. I never used the light much either. Maybe that's why the button stuck? On a lot of the newer Casios you can set them to auto light when you tilt the watch at an angle at night. Say you turn the watch towards your face, the light comes on. A nice feature if you need to know the time in the dark a lot.

It was a smart purchase. I bought an Oral B 3D a decade ago and haven't had a cavity since.
