That Toshiba LCD TV I was talking about is quite impressive. Black reproduction is perfect almost. I watched Avatar BD on it yesterday. Perfect. Some broadcasts have light blue tinting problems, but I think part of that is low quality of the source. Never see it on HD sources. TV may or may not have a blue tint issue but I almost never see it so I hardly call it an issue with the panel. Many reviews claimed color reproduction is very bad. Haven't seen that either. Sometimes it pays to ignore bad reviews from so-called professional websites.

It also does seem to have some sort of volume normalizer menu setting which I wasn't aware of. I have it hooked up HDMI to TV and optical out to cheapy RCA 5.1 reciever. Not bad, except, again, broadcast TV from cable company has sound out of sync from picture sometimes. It did this on our 27" CRT also.

It's been solid so far. I spend more on the CPU and motherboard that I would normally spend but I'm hoping this build will last me a good few years. I haven't even bothered to overclock as its been plenty fast for Bad Company 2 even at 2.8 Ghz. I want to replace the stock cooler though. It gets much too loud under load for my taste. Oh I do need to get a new video card at some point. My 9600 GSO is good enough for now but something faster would be a better match for the fast CPU.

I had an upgrade thread in Gaming if you want to read a little more (only a few pages).
