New power supply in older Antec case??

I want to put a new motherboard in my Antec case.
Case is full tower with Antec SL 400 power supply (20 pin connector).
Got case October 2003. Sorry do not know the model of the case...

After looking at new motherboards I see they need a 24 pin connector.

Want to upgrade to newer 24 pin power supply.
Will a newer supply fit or do I have to get a new case also?

You can either buy a 20-24 pin converter for a few bucks... or just try the 20 pin. Most 24 pin motherboards will work with regular 20 pin PSUs. Just don't expect a wicked overclock with only the 20 pin psu.

Most current/new PSU's will fit. There are some models that are deeper so that might be an issue (our Phantom series and I think OCZ or Ultra have a model that's deeper then standard).

PC Power and Cooling also makes many model that are deeper than most power supplies.

Yes I was thinking of the Antec SP-450.
It appears to have the same dimensions as my old SL 400.
Don't need a SLi board so I hope this will work.
