    Gold recovery - highly doubt it.

    50 Athlon XP would be 23,100 pins. Even so they are only plated. With Gold going for
    $551 an ounce you would need 1.4oz just to break even at $770. And that doesn't count
    shipping, time, or labor.

    These would be my guess : "Sort through them and possibly find a few functional ones..."

    The second seems most feasible given I have seen CPU keychains go for $20.
    And since the keychain making process involves removing the pins the auction buyer
    can add that to their profit as well.
