1600x1200 LCD MONITOR FOR 500 BUX?

i am looking to buy a 1600X1200 native resolution LCD monitor from the refund from the gov. of 500 bux. what would you guys reccomend? dell? samsung? thanks

the 204b looks nice, 5ms advertised refresh rate, but who knows...

oh yea, strictly gaming. I didn't buy an X1900XTX to write emails! LOL! I do a lot of dvd ripping and burning but mainly just web browsing and gaming. I too play CSS at 1600 x 1200 resolution and have no problems with ghosting etc. The only downfall to this monitor I found is the viewing angles kinda suck but if you sit facing the screen straight on you will have no problems!

I'm also considering the 204T or the 204B, the swivel screen is interesting for my wife, if I read the specs properly? the B model has a faster spec but does not swivel - is that correct?

I don't mean to sway off topic, but have you considered Dell's wide panel monitor? I do believe that runs less than $500, but I'm unsure about compatability with gaming at it's native resolution.

yea, the dells' are nice but i would prefer a samsung.

2 reasons,
1) 5ms response time on the 204B, vs 16ms on the dell
2) i dont like dell...its like walmart, no body likes walmart...some times you are forced to shop there but if its not nessesary i would prefer not to..it looks like i would save ~ 50 bux(maybe) if i got the dell, but the faster response of the samsung, and not supporting dell is worth $50 to me.

The response time and contrast ratio is better on the 204B over the 204T so that definatley swayed me in the direction of the 204B. If by Swivel you mean pivot then yes, the 204B does pivot to vertical.
